There are all kinds of aluminum materials of good or bad quality, and the amount of the purchase is so tremendous, therefore it is impossible to inspect in details. In order to avoid unnecessary trouble, it is important to choose a good manufacturer. If knowing several factors impacting the quality of aluminum materials, then you can get them with assurance.
Alloying elements
6063 is an alloy with the main element of Al,Mg and silicon, and each element has a range of content. Since the price of magnesium is high, Some manufacturers use the magnesium as little as possible in order to reduce costs. Some Worse still, the magnesium content is lower than the minimum allowed content. Waste wire, scrap or aluminum pan pots are probably added in the alloy, let alone 6063 alloy. It causes very low mechanical strength aluminum, easy to be curved by hands, commonly known as soft as "noodle". That is one of the reasons why the aluminum can be thousand dollars cheaper.
Regular aluminum factories, when preparing alloy compositions, have internal standards, that's to say, within the content of the various elements, the factories have their own smaller ranges. The ratio between aluminum, magnesium and silicon is very strict. The factories have their own data, kept confident. Only when made from qualified formulations, can the quality of alloy be ensured. Or else now matter how the processing goes, the quality can't be guaranteed.
Aluminum melting furnace
It is also essential how to melt formulated 6063 alloy in what stove. At present there are stoves of the forties' level and the nineties, and the worst factory uses the original pot boilers. There are melting stoves using coal-burning, oil, burning gas and electric heating. Some stoves have chimneys, and some without chimneys. Square stoves (rectangular) are generally used, and round stoves are advanced, some of which can tilt back aluminum water. As for tonnage, there're melting stoves of a ton, two tons, five tons, ten tons, twenty-five tons and fifty tons. A holding furnace may be added below the melting stove, used to prepare 6063 alloy. Residue and gas can be get rid of in it, and then aluminum rod is cast for extrusion use. The quality of alloy made in modern round stoves is absolutely not the same as that made in the original coal stoves. General stoves, no matter what fuel burns, should have chimneys, from which discharge most of waste gas and residue during fuel combustion. Without chimneys waste gas and residue will all be melted in aluminum water. There is a serious internal slag bubble in the rod used for extrusion. This is one of the causes of poor quality aluminum, and cheap aluminum.
